(pronounced E-Lisa)
I’m a pet photographer and storyteller, sharing life with my husband Blake, our rescue pups Bert and Bodie, and a baby boy who already seems very comfortable around dogs.
Based in Fredericksburg, Virginia, our days balance time outdoors with time at home—long walks and adventures alongside plenty of couch time and snacks. It’s a rhythm that influences how I work with pets in the studio, too.
Why I Do This
I’ve loved animals for as long as I can remember—dogs especially. What began as a quiet fascination grew into a proud identity: a devoted pet portraitist focused on honoring the animals we share our lives with.
As a child, I told the stories of pets through drawings and picture books. Today, I tell those stories through photography—capturing expression, personality, and connection in a way that words can’t quite reach.
To me, pets aren’t accessories or side characters. They’re family. They bring humor, comfort, and emotional intelligence into our lives, and they deserve to be remembered with the same care as any loved one.
My Approach with Pets
What matters most to me is creating space for pets to be themselves.
Some arrive full of energy. Others need a little more time, space, or reassurance. I approach every session with patience and flexibility, meeting each pet where they are and allowing their personality to come through naturally.
Working in a private studio allows each session to unfold without pressure or distraction, creating an experience that feels supportive for pets and their people alike.
